Gary Swinkey North Carolina Private Investigator Number 3418
Gary is licensed by the North Carolina Private Security Bureau and is a member of the North Carolina Association of Licensed Investigators, the National Council of Investigation and Security Services.
Mr. Swinkey is a retired Supervisory Special Agent from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). He graduated from Gardner-Webb University with a Bachelors Degree in Education and received a Masters Degree in Counseling from Western Carolina University.
Mr. Swinkey served 13 years as a Drill Instructor and Training Officer in the United States Army Reserve prior to beginning a 20 year career with the FBI in 1983. He served in New Haven, New York City, San Juan, and Charlotte FBI field offices, and ascended into management to the Supervisory Special Agent position.
He served at FBI Headquarters as the FBI Department of Defense (DoD) Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) International Counter-Proliferation Program Manager. His FBI experience includes Assistant WMD Coordinator, Special Event Planning, Evidence Response Team, 15 years Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT), investigating Narcotics matters, Violent Crime, White Collar Crime, and Counter-Terrorism. With temporary duty assignments in the Balkans, Canada, and South Africa he has assisted Interpol, the governments of South Africa, Swaziland, Botswana, Madagascar, Kenya, the Caribbean, and Canada with international investigations.
Mr. Swinkey currently serves as the Senior National Security Advisor for Computer Sciences Corporation and is President of the Hickory Group. He currently holds a Top- Secret security clearance
As Senior National Security Advisor Mr. Swinkey travels to the twenty-six countries of the Former Soviet Union (FSU) in Support of the International Counter Proliferation Program (ICP) through course development, exercise planning needs assessment, and instruction with the Computer Sciences Corporation.
As the President of THG Mr. Swinkey provides Litigation support to attorneys. He also provides assistance to corporate clients in the areas of security protocol, inventory control, and supply chain security.
Mr. Swinkey is an instructor at the Qatar Security Service Academy for Qatar Security Services, Doha, Qatar where he provides investigative instruction to new recruits.
Mr. Swinkey has conducted due diligence investigations in Romania, and Bulgaria along with a risk assessment in the Dominican Republic.
Mr. Swinkey assisted the U.S. Army in conducting a Chemical Warfare Challenge Inspection Exercise in accordance with the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) mandate.
Mr. Swinkey was a project team member for an emergency management assessment and planning effort for the government (Royal Family) of the United Arab Emirates. As a comprehensive initiative, I assisted with development of a Fusion Center, blending investigative and emergency response agencies together for information sharing and coordinated emergency response.
